The Burning Bridges AI trend, explained

The Burning Bridges AI trend is people using AI video tools to recast the dinner party from Drake's "Burning Bridges" music video with themselves, friends or characters. The room, the crowd and the moves stay the same; only the host changes. It started with a few creators in September 2026 and became a TikTok trend in the second week of October.

Burning Bridges AI in one line: the Drake dinner party scene, chandeliers, silver cups and a cheering crowd, remade by AI with a new person in Drake's place.

The song and the video

"Burning Bridges" is a track from Drake's album Iceman, released on May 15, 2026 through OVO and Republic. Wikipedia describes it as aimed at ASAP Rocky; it peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. The official music video, on the DrakeVEVO YouTube channel, was directed by Theo Skudra according to Songfacts, which describes it as Drake hosting a lavish private dinner surrounded by friends.

The part everyone recasts is the party: a warm, dark private room with crystal chandeliers, a handheld camera close to Drake as he points, raises a silver cup, adjusts his collar and laughs, and a crowd of friends behind him toasting and waving at the lens. It reads instantly even with the sound off, which is why it works as a template.

How the Burning Bridges AI trend grew

  1. May 15, 2026. Drake releases the album Iceman, which includes "Burning Bridges". (Wikipedia)
  2. July 2, 2026. At a World Cup match in Toronto, Drake is filmed doing the hand-over-the-eyes "where she at?" look, and the gesture spreads as a meme. (HotNewHipHop)
  3. September 19, 2026. The earliest dated AI version found: a Threads post of a creator putting himself into the video with Higgsfield Genjutsu. (Top5Apps)
  4. October 5, 2026. TikTok creator @alex.kuri posts the original scene and an AI recast stacked together; it passes 300,000 views by October 10. (MakeViral)
  5. October 7, 2026. The #burningbridgesai tag starts on TikTok and reaches about 2 million views in three days. (MakeViral)

After that the versions multiplied: sitcom-style office characters, cartoon characters, grandmothers and pets all took Drake's seat, and dedicated tools and one-click templates appeared. Social media roundups joked that you had to turn off AI before you could figure out the original "where she at" video.

What "where she at" has to do with it

"Where she at?" is a line from the song, and Drake's hand-over-the-eyes look while asking it became its own meme in the summer. Many people who saw the AI dinner party clips know them only as "the where she at video". We wrote a separate page for that: the "where she at" video, explained.

How people make a Burning Bridges AI video

There are three common routes. General AI tools such as Higgsfield Genjutsu take a reference clip, reference images and a written prompt, and usually need a few attempts. Template apps and CapCut templates are quicker but vary by region and often only edit footage you already have. One-photo sites like this one keep the scene built in, so you upload a single photo and get the finished clip.
